Weekend Wish List - Honey Love

In the words of Queen Bey herself... we don't think you're ready for this jelly. Royal Jelly that is, and all manner off bee-utylicious honey goodness from those stripy buzzing beauties.

Honey has long been used as beauty product ingredient (all hail Cleopatra!), but in recent years its popularity has surged. And it's easy to see why. Not only is honey enriched with vitamins, it's also a natural antioxidant, and manuka honey in particular possesses powerful antibacterial properties. These qualities mean it's great for your skin and it's also excellent to boost general health (when used in moderation, of course).

We've searched high and low to bring you a Wish List filled with the our pick of the best honey-based products on the market. Enjoy!

This luxurious body cream is infused with a blend of real honey and fragrant green tea extract to help calm and condition dry skin. It's part of an Arden range we haven't yet tried, so we're keen to see if it's as good as we anticipate.

Transform your run-of-the-mill bath into a decadent honey moisture bath by coating the cute little wooden honey dipper with product and twirling it under running water. Not only will this product give you a sea of beautifully fragranced foamy bubbles, it'll also leave your skin feeling lovely and fresh.

The honey-enriched pressed powder in this handy compact gives skin an even, bronze matte finish, which for some is preferable to the shimmery bronze that many similar products provide. We're big fans of a bit of embossing on powders and the honeycomb design on this one just adds to its appeal.

It's hard to see why Royal Jelly was only really bought by/for Grannies in the past (we've all gifted the older ladies in our life an M&S set at Christmas, haven't we?) when it's got so much to offer all of us. It has a whopping 134 nutrients in just one tiny drop! At only £5 for two, this mask is a great way to give it a go... the Royal jelly supports cell regeneration, enhances elasticity and leaves skin rejuvenated and radiant, while honey, wheat proteins, and neroli essential oil work together to revitalise skin leaving it smooth and supple. Lovely.

From Chantecaille's Spring 2014 collection, this high-end eye and cheek palette may be a year old, but its colours are still ideal for springtime. Not only is it ridiculously aesthetically pleasing, the shades are perfectly named for inclusion in our beauty-based homage to the humble bee - Honey, Beehive, Nectar and Sky.

This wonderful bullet of lip nectar, enriched with royal jelly (you know the deal), chamomile and sunflower extract, produces a deeply replenishing treatment that repairs and conditions chapped lips. It gives a light golden shimmer which is equally suited to being worn alone or layered with your choice of lip colour. We're proud owners of a few Lipstick Queen products and see this one as an essential buy for spring and summer!

Propolis (a sticky product produced by bees and used as a coating to build their hives) is one of the buzz words of the moment. Combined here with honey and Royal Jelly, this rich 1-minute treatment aims to leave fragile, damaged hair feeling healthier and more resilient from the first wash. For only £2.99 and off the back of a series of excellent reviews, we think this one is well worth a try.

We couldn't have a honey-based Wish List without a bit of Burt's Bees! Thanks to the power of Royal Jelly, this gentle, nourishing cream helps soften skin, increase radiance, and restore essential moisture to the delicate areas around the eyes.

This one is simple. We love all of the little Vaseline tins for their price, handbag-friendliness and moisturising qualities. We also love honey, so a combination of the two (plus the cute stripy tin design) is pretty much a match made in TLBG heaven.

As with all of Marc Jacobs fragrances, the bottle is a work of art - it's sure to brighten up even the bleakest of dressing tables! The floral and fruity scented Eau De Parfum is a must for anyone who loves the sweetness of honey.

This fab pot of golden scrub contains Community Fair Trade honey made from the nectar of thousands of wildflowers, so you can imagine how great it smells! Apply to damp skin to gently slough away the dead skin cells and wonder at how soft your skin feels afterwards.

We've heard great things about this organic, honey scented, multi-purpose balm. It promises to immediately nourish, repair and soothe minor irritations and redness, so if you have any patches of dry, damaged or distressed skin (like we do) it sounds like the perfect remedy.

If you're looking for a completely natural way to use honey in your beauty regime, we've got some gorgeous DIY face masks you can make at home. Click to view recipes for oily skin or normal skin.

What products are on your wish list at the moment? We'd love to know!
