Bobbi Brown Sheer Finish Loose Powder Pale Yellow £26.00 (BUY HERE)
What They Say:
A long-lasting powder that sets and perfects foundation for
a smooth, flawless finish. This sheer powder is 100% oil-free and
oil-absorbing, with vitamin E for the most comfortable wear. It’s ideal for
women with oily skin, or women who prefer a lighter powder. The unique yellow
base complements all skin tones to create a natural-looking tone. For a natural
look, apply over foundation using a powder brush. For a more polished look,
apply powder with our Powder Puff (sold separately), using a gentle pressing
motion. Dust off excess with a brush.
What We Say:
As the weather gets hotter more and more of us reach for the powder. Don't get us wrong, we love a dewy complexion - but that doesn't mean we like a shiny t-zone!
Finding a good powder is key to a flawless base. With pressed powders, mineral powders, loose powders and setting powders, the market can be a little confusing. A lot of the time it can be down to trial and error, and finding one that just fits with your skin well.
We've been using the Bobbi Brown Loose Powder in Pale Yellow for a few weeks now and we've been very impressed.
Firstly, it's not the kind of powder we'd recommend taking with you on the move. As a loose powder, with one fail, it can play havoc with the contents of your bag and clothing (seriously, it can go EVERYWHERE).
This powder is the perfect companion for your at home kit. Apply if after your foundation to make sure it sets and stays all day, as well as reduces shine. You can use a little or a lot - depending on the level of matte you're after.
The yellow tone of this powder is great for a natural look. It's also great for reducing redness. If you suffer from blushing, or you have a lot of red in your complexion, this is a great product for you as the yellow neutralises red tones.
The finish to the powder is soft and matte, and if you blend it properly, with your powder brush, you'll get a lovely matte finish.
In terms of durability, the powder kept us shine-free for the entire working day. The only downside is that you don't really want to be carrying it around for touch-ups. Come 5pm, if you're an oily skin type, you'll likely need a dab here or there.

In A Nutshell:
It is a great powder, it's a fab alternative to translucent and it looks micro fine on the skin. It blends and buffs well to give you a soft finish too.
The only downside is, as with most loose powders, it's not really practical for your handbag. We would recommend getting the pressed version for your daily touch-ups.
