Today on TLBG, we've been taking a look inside the beautiful make-up bag belonging to one of our guest writers, Anna-bee Beauty...
Like most other beauty bloggers, I have enough foundation,
lipstick and mascara to fill twenty make-up bags. However, my little blue
bee-print bag is where I keep all my current favourites, and must-haves. The
Little Beauty Guide kindly asked me to share its contents with you, so here goes…
BASE PRODUCTS
In my opinion, good sun protection is a non-negotiable daily
essential. Therefore the very first item I always reach for in my make-up bag is
my Soap & Glory Make Yourself Youthful Sunshield Superfluid SPF 50+. It’s
light enough to wear every day and gives me peace of mind when it comes to UV
defense! It’s gently mattifying and I find it doubles up as a light primer in
the summer.
Foundation wise, I have never found a match for my pale skin that
was more perfect than the Charlotte Tilbury Light Wonder Foundation in Fair 1.
It has beautiful, light coverage and gives my skin a nice luminosity. It
therefore makes sense that I bought the accompanying concealer; Charlotte
Tilbury The Retoucher Concealer in Fair 1. It’s creamy and covers my dark
circles well, and it doesn't go dry and flaky!
Once I've sorted my foundation
and concealer, I like to set everything in place with the inimitable Hourglass
Ambient Lighting Powder in Diffused Light. Everything you've heard about these
mythical powders is true; it gives an airbrushed, diaphanous glow to my face
and sets my make-up incredibly well. Probably my favourite ever product.
Lastly,
my current favourite contour powder is from the NARS Contour Blush palette in
Olympia. The contour colour is perfect for pale skin; it’s a soft rosy-taupe
colour, which lends just the right amount of shadow to my skin without looking
flat and brown. The highlighter colour is a bit redundant as it’s the same
colour as my skin and its matte, so doesn't give me much of a glow.
EYES
I've only recently discovered how necessary eye primer is if
you’re going to be applying eye make-up. The Urban Decay Eyeshadow Primer Potion
is truly magical; if you put make-up on top of this, it’s not going anywhere.
I'm currently loving the Makeup Revolution I Heart Chocolate Palette because it
contains all my favourite eyeshadow colours; ivories, golds, bronzes and
browns. They’re great quality and the chocolate bar palette is just so
aesthetically pleasing!
I fell in love with that Cynthia Rowley Beauty Eyeliner
in Silver by accident; it arrived in a Birchbox and I didn't think much of it
at first but it’s amazing! It’s insanely long-wearing and pigmented and it looks
so pretty having a line of silver above your lashes.
The MaxFactor False Lash
Effect Mascara does exactly what it says on the tube; it makes my lashes look
long, thick and dark, just like falsies! Any beauty blogger worth their salt
knows how popular the Sleek Makeup Brow Kits are, and the dark version is
perfect for my brunette brows. The little tweezers are handy for rogue hair
removal on the go, too. Lastly, a very new addition to my make-up bag is the
Maybelline Brow Drama in Transparent. It gives just that little bit more
definition and hold and makes sure my eyebrows stay exactly where I tell them
to!
LIPS, NAILS, PERFUME
Now that it’s summer my lip looks are pretty low
maintenance. I like to use the LipGlam Natural Lanolin Lip Balm to soften and
protect my lips, and to keep them moisturised all day.
I’ve recently fallen in
love with the Bourjois Rouge Edition Velvet & Aqua Laque Lipsticks, and
picked up three when Boots had a special offer; Peach Club, Hot Pepper, and
Apprechissant. Hot Pepper is a matte
vibrant orange-red, Peach Club is a matte bright coral, and Apprecishant is a
shiny pink-nude. All of them are gorgeous!
My go-to nail varnish at the moment
in the MaxFactor Glossfinity Nail Varnish in Cerise. It pairs incredibly well
with Hot Pepper as they are basically the same colour, and I do love a unified
lip and nail combo. Lastly but by no means least, I like to carry around this
little vial of one of my favourite perfumes; YSL Opium Vapeurs de Parfum. It’s
a lighter, more floral version of the classic YSL Opium and I absolutely love it!
So there you have it; a comprehensive guide to my make-up
bag! I hope you've enjoying taking a peek at my current cosmetic faves, and
maybe I've inspired you to try something new! There’s always more to see on my blog, Twitter, and Instagram.
