Wish List: Festival Essentials For Her

Our Festival Essentials edit is a heady mix of hippy dippy spangliness and no-nonsense practicality. We're here to make sure you have the best festival experience ever without having to worry about greasy hair, stinging sunburn or worn-off make-up getting in the way!

Small packages and dual-purpose products are the key to keeping it simple and cutting down on your beauty kit...

1. Bumble and bumble Surf Spray - £9.50 (BUY HERE)

The key to perfect, messy, tousled festival hair. You want to look great without looking like you've made TOO much effort and this fab salt spray will help!

2. Paul & Joe Blotting Paper - £4.00 (BUY HERE)

We all love a bit of shine on our cheekbones... but not on our t-zone. This handy (and pretty) pack of blotting papers is small enough to fit in your pocket and will help to keep oily skin at bay throughout the day - just press a sheet on the problem area and the paper absorbs the oil. Magic.

3. Illamasqua UV Glow Top Coat Nail Polish - £13.00 (BUY HERE)

One of our favourite festival essentials! Apply this special top coat over any polish to make your nails glow under UV light.

4. No7 Instant Radiance Highlighter - £9.95 (BUY HERE)

Don't get us wrong, we love Benefit High Beam, but in a festival situation the glass bottle/applicator isn't too handy. Much more practical, this chubby stick is set to be part of our festival make-up kit. Not only can you use it on brows and cheekbones, it can also double up as a soft eyeshadow to give another look if you're camping out for a couple of days. We're thinking pale pink lids and the perfect liner flick.

5. Crown and Glory Shella Headband in Pink - £30.00 (BUY HERE)

If there's one time in the year it's truly acceptable to wear a floral headpiece, it's at a festival. There are so many beautiful ones out there but this Crown and Glory number is our top pick with its gorgeous big pink blooms. We prefer a hairband style as it's far more likely to stay in place while we're rocking out to our favourite bands.

6. Yes to Cucumbers Soothing Hypoallergenic Facial Travel Towelettes - £1.79 (BUY HERE)

As a general rule we wouldn't choose face wipes above a proper cleansing routine. BUT, for a festival it's all about what's practical and lugging a full on facial kit into Glastonbury (or your festival of choice) isn't really what you want to be doing! For a day or two you can be forgiven for using wipes but promise us that you'll follow with a really good moisturiser (preferably with SPF).

7. Dior Star Fluid Foundation, SPF 30 - £32.00 (BUY HERE)

A gorgeous lightweight foundation with the added bonus of SPF 30. We can't go on enough about the importance of sun protection - are we boring you yet? Pair this with a great facial sunscreen to look great and stay sun-safe all day long.

8. Benefit They're Real! Push Up Liner - £18.50 (BUY HERE)

Not only will this liner give you a killer cat-eye, it's incredibly long-wearing and will last through hours of dancing, fun, frolics and (in all likelihood if you're in the UK) rain. Have a few practice runs before you're festival-bound and you'll find this product super easy to use on the go.

9. No7 Stay Perfect Shade and Define - £8.00 (BUY HERE)

Another one for your capsule make-up collection, this soft creamy pencil can be used as a precise liner to define eyes, smudged along the lash line or as a shadow. It's long-wearing and comes in a range of great colours, so we'll definitely be packing a couple of these for a whole range of options.

10. Selexir Peace Balm 15ml - £24.90 (BUY HERE)

This wonder product is like a mini beauty first-aid kit. It is on the pricy side, but if you're likely to suffer from eczema, sunburn or any other skin irritation while you're partying, you're going to want Peace Balm close at hand. It soothes irritations, strengthens cracked skin, and helps to bring back a soft and smooth feeling - we won't go anywhere without it!

11. A Beautiful Life Unicorn Shimmering Body Creme - £19.00 (BUY HERE)

Body cream with shimmery glitter and a unicorn on the packaging - need we say any more? On the same sparkly vibe, we also love this glitter stick which is easy to apply and comes in silver and pink!

12. Bobbi Brown Pot Rouge in Calypso Coral - £19.00 (BUY HERE)

We recently reviewed this multi-function product and it's ideal for your festival kit - read more here.

13. Orelia Chain Temporary Metallic Tattoos - £8.00 (BUY HERE)

Here at TLBG HQ we're a bit too fickle to commit to real tattoos so these transfers suit us just fine. The fact that they're metallic, and shiny, and come in beautiful designs is total bonus. Since they look even better on tanned skin, if you have any left you should definitely take them on your hols and pair them with a bikini.

14. Batiste 3 x Mini Set - £3.50 (BUY HERE)

You know by now we love Batiste dry shampoo - it's been included in enough of these wish lists to make that quite clear. As far as we're concerned these mini cans are the very definition of a festival essential. Use to thicken, freshen up or boost your style whether you're partying for just one day or camping out for the full weekend.

Next week, we'll be getting down and dirty with the boys - revealing everything they'll need to pack for some of this year's biggest (and muddiest) festivals.
