So here's the background... 001 is a luxury British beauty brand created by aromatherapist and beauty therapist Ada Ooi. The very purpose of the product line is to “return skin to a state of natural equilibrium”. This mission is carried out via a beautiful new-meets-old fusion of hi-tech bio-chemistry and traditional apothecary principles from Asia and beyond. Already sounds wonderful doesn't it?

The packaging is stylish; a dark golden brown glass bottle with black label and lid which gives a subtle nod to the brand's apothecary roots. The label design has a smart, modern, luxurious vibe with just the right amount of gold. One of our favourite design features is that each product in the range is imprinted with it's own quote. The Rosa Damascena Essence Mist's words of wisdom come from the ultimate beauty icon, Marilyn Monroe...

The mist is really simple to use; just spritz on using the smooth-functioning pump and gently pat into skin to ensure the prized droplets are properly absorbed - this step is hugely important to ensure you don't lose any of the valuable oil to evaporation. In the weeks that we've been testing this wonderful mist, we've used it as a toner, a facial pick-me-up, a make-up setter and also to give our hair a little rose-scented boost every now and again.

We absolutely love this product. On a naked face, the potent blend of Rosa Damascena Flower Oil and Rosa Damascena Flower Water instantly cools and refreshes, while visibly brightening and refining the surface of the skin. As the mist settles, the product serves to soothe and comfort, while also helping to reduce those dreaded puffy morning eyes. As an added bonus, the delicate rose fragrance is simply beautiful.

We also had fantastic results when using the mist as as a make-up setter or mid-afternoon refresher. On occasion, skin can feel a bit clogged or heavy with make-up and this is the perfect product to remedy that. A couple of sprays can help to restore the wonderful fresh skin feeling.
