Being the crazy lipstick fanatics that we are, we love anything that can improve our lip colouring experience.

In the past, we've tired a few 'glorified lipblams' claiming to improve longevity, intensity and even application of our favourite lip products that really haven't lived up to our expectations. Some do give you a smoother surface for application, but few prolong or improve the colour.

Step in NYX. This waxy feeling lip pencil adds a hint of colour to dull the natural shade of your lips, thus helping to make the colour of your lipstick much brighter and truer. The formula is quite moisturising - but your lips feel matte not glossy. The product makes your pout almost sticky - which might explain why it helps to hold the colour for longer.

It's easy to apply due to the pencil design - and it's only £6. Yes. £6.

We tried it with a variety of different lipsticks and the results were consistent. Our lipstick took hold better, the colour was more intense and the product lasted longer. That's three big ticks from us.
