We LOVE natural products.
In a time where we're more aware of what we put into our bodies than ever before, it's becoming increasingly important that we're able to source some lovely organic goodness to slather ON our bodies too. We're really lucky that it's now far easier to find certified organic makeup and beauty products, not only that, but they're becoming progressively more stylish and of higher quality year on year.
If you've made a commitment to go organic with your grocery shopping, why not take the plunge and do the same with your beauty regime? We've researched A LOT to hone down a virtuous list of products, just perfect for an organic beauty starter kit.
1. Inika Face in a Box - £49.95 (BUY HERE)
Inika is well-known in beauty circles for its ability to balance cruelty free organic credentials with really high quality make up products, something of a rarity. The 'Face in a Box' is a fantastic place to start if you want to go natural without shelling out for a multitude of full-sized products. The kit contains Mineral Foundation (3g), Certified Organic Liquid Mineral Foundation (4ml), Full Size Mineral Bronzer (3.5g), Pure Primer (4ml), Certified Organic Natural Perfection Concealer (4ml), Full Size Vegan Kabuki Brush, Full Size Vegan Contour Brush and a handy Drawstring makeup bag to keep it all together. You can read more of our thoughts on the Inika brand here.
2. Alexandra Soveral Angel Balm - £55.00 (BUY HERE)
100% organic, this multifunctional treatment is exactly what it says on the pot, an angel sent down from heaven to look after our skin! It can be used as a deep pore cleanser (it comes with its own fluffy flannel), balancing mask, lip balm, or simply as a skin salve. With rose geranium essential oil, it balances sebum production and maintains skin suppleness, bringing serenity wherever it goes.
3. Moon Juice Beauty Dust - $65.00 (BUY HERE)
We first came across the certified organic Moon Juice brand via Gwyneth Paltrow's Goop (and yes, if you're familiar with the feature, it WAS the Sex Dust that caught our attention. We're so predictable). On checking out the other weird and wonderful products the company had to offer, we found Beauty Dust and it instantly hit our wish list... This ancient empiric formula expands beauty through calming the nerves, increasing collagen and silica production, toning and firming tissue, and both hydrating and fortifying skin, hair, nails and cell membranes from the inside out. The powder can be blended with hot and cold liquids such as nut milks, water and teas to produce something of a beauty elixir. Yes, yes, YESSSS!
4. The Organic Pharmacy Organic Glam Nail Polish in Mars - £11.50 (BUY HERE)
We've recently tried quite a few products from The Organic Pharmacy (including one of the best lip balms EVER) and off the back of those, we're keen to sample more of their wares. Organic nail polish is a thing? Who knew? Despite our beauty credentials, we actually didn't, but the world is definitely a happier place for it. The Organic Glam cosmetic line is stylishly packaged and the lovely polishes come in a range of 13 colours plus a base and top coat. Top of our buy list is this vivid red shade with a subtle shimmer.
5. Botanicals Soothing Salve - £15.95 (BUY HERE)
Suitable for all skin types, the Botanicals balms are made entirely with active plant derived ingredients, which support the skin's natural ability to heal and regenerate new cells. This gorgeous skin salve will soothe conditions such as eczema and chapped skin and is also highly effective as an after-sun moisturiser. It smells flippin' lovely to boot.
6. NEOM Essential Mood Lifting Kit - £20.00 (BUY HERE)
In case you're unfamiliar with it, the Neom Organics London brand produces 100% natural fragrances for the mind & body. Each product provides true therapeutic benefits, whether the goal is to relieve stress, aid sleep, boost your energy or even lift your mood. The product packaging and branding is right up our street and unsurprisingly, the scents are absolutely glorious. If we were forced to only buy one thing, this little set from the 'Scent To Make You Happy' range would most definitely be it. It contains a Mood Lifting On The Go Mist, an Intensive Mood Lifting Treatment and a Mood Lifting Home Mist (all 5ml) and will hopefully turn us into Pharrell (spiritually). Happy, happy, happy, happy...
7. Ilcsi Apricot Gel Mask - £30.00 (BUY HERE)
This vibrant orange-hued mask looks good enough to eat. But you mustn't, mainly because it's £30 a pop and also because it's nourishing food for your face, not your belly. Extremely potent and intensely hydrating, this unctuous, jammy, fruity gel mask is bursting with natural flavonoids and natural fruit acids which lift, regenerate and replenish dry, vitamin-deficient complexions. The face says yum.
8. Fig + Yarrow Floral Milk Bath - $32.00 (BUY HERE)
An aromatic blend of beautifying florals in skin-softening buttermilk and therapeutic minerals, ready and waiting to be dissolved into a blissful bath. Breathe in the pure essential oils of jasmine, ylang ylang, geranium and rosewood, which provide both skin-enhancing and mood calming benefits. There's also magnesium salts to aid detoxification and promote mental and physical relaxation, plus salts from the dead sea which mineralise the skin.
9. John Masters Organics Pomegranate Facial Nourishing Oil - £27.00 (BUY HERE)
This blend of 12 organic plant and essential oils can be used alone or added to your regular moisturiser for an extra hydration boost. The wondrous oil instantly penetrates and nourishes dry skin.
10. Ilia Lip Stick in Strike It Up - £22.00 (BUY HERE)
If Celine, Dolce & Gabbana and Marchesa's runway shows for AW15 are anything to go by, we'll be sporting red lips for the remainder of the year. So, if you're investing in an organic lipstick for the first time, we'd say this rich semi-matte shade is a pretty safe bet to carry you through the seasons.
11. Tata Harper's Daily Essentials Kit - £51.00 (BUY HERE)
A skincare MUST-HAVE. This kit is a wonderful introduction to Tata Harper's 100% natural and organic skin care range. 12. Green People Quinoa & Artichoke Hair Care Travel Duo - £16.95 (BUY HERE)
So our thinking on this one is... quinoa is pretty great all-round, it's super-healthy and full of protein, so it's only logical that it'll do your hair some good. If you fancy trying out a nice, organic, volumising shampoo and conditioner, this little travel set (100mls of each) seems a very decent place to start.
